Golden Frog Supports ‪#‎ResetTheNet

June 4, 2014

Today, June 5, 2014, is the one-year anniversary of the first report about NSA spying based on the documents leaked by Edward Snowden. Over the last year, the continuous stream of news has confirmed what Golden Frog long suspected, your online privacy is at risk – every day, no matter who you are. That’s why we are proud to join today’s Reset the Net campaign that’s invigorating the movement to curb government and corporate surveillance on the web.

Led by our friends at Fight for the Future, Reset the Net, calls on Internet users to take matters into their own hands and increase online privacy by using encryption tools and other technologies that help curtail government and corporate access to otherwise private information. We are privileged to enjoy a close relationship with the team at Fight for the Future. Evan Greer, the campaign manager at FFTF, was a panelist at our “Take Back the Internet” online privacy panel during SXSW 2014. Needless to say, we are in awe of the hard work they’ve done to make Reset the Netsuch an important event.

The mission of Reset the Net aligns with Golden Frog’s core values. We founded the company in 2009 after many years of lobbying the government for better Internet privacy laws. After realizing the government wasn’t moving toward meaningful change, we decided to develop VyprVPN, an end-to-end encrypted VPN service that allows Netizens to take back their privacy while online. Over the last five years, we’ve worked hard to make VyprVPN a robust and easy to use service and developed apps to secure WindowsMaciOS and Android platforms. We are proud to provide online security, privacy and freedom to users in more than 195 countries and offer VPN access to 40+ server locations around the world. Our customers include international travelers, expats, journalists, professional gamers, app developers and even international businesses – all with unique online privacy and security needs.

All of them have realized what Edward Snowden said during SXSW, “We need to think of encryption not as an arcane, dark art, but as a basic protection.” We urge our readers to Reset the Net and talk to their colleagues and friends about not only the dangers of Internet surveillance, but the online privacy technologies you can use to fight back. Together we can reclaim privacy on our own terms, and create a more private, secure and open Internet for all.

We invite all Internet users to try VyprVPN free for three days to start encrypting their Internet connection and Reset the Net!
